Looking Forward To The Blue Fig

December 8, 2013 // Vancouver

I really love having something to look forward to, it doesn’t have to be big and elaborate or super fancy or even a ‘thing’. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy big and elaborate thing like looking forward to going on a vacation to a warm tropical destination! However, sometimes it’s the little (and the in between things) that are just as good.  Even something as simple as looking forward to a good coffee can be enough to get me going on those really hard mornings. Heck, even good mornings are made better by coffee!

This week I have a couple of fun things to look forward to and that makes me happy. There is a dinner out to Chambar with a couple of girlfriends to celebrate a special December birthday. Chambar is probably one of my top 3 favourite places to have dinner at in Vancouver, if you haven’t yet been then it’s time to book your reservation. I’m looking forward to sipping their signature martini, ‘The Blue Fig’. This classic beverage is made up of oven roasted infused gin cocktail with a tiny side dish of blue cheese. When paired together these two flavours are a perfect before, during or after dinner cocktail!

This week I am also looking forward to…Enjoying a few perfect latte’s from the JJ Bean coffee shop in Yaletown, even if it is a 10 minute walk out of my way. I’m excited to be meeting new babies and spend time with their mamas. I’m looking forward to the arrival of all the Christmas pressies I’ve ordered on line. I’m also looking forward to quiet evenings spent inside just cozied up with my family. The last one is so simple and really it is the best one.

Do you like to look forward to things as much as I do?
